The Importance of Comparing Airfares

Do you need to book a flight?

If you are looking to take a vacation,  you will find an unlimited number of options.  There are thousands of airports around the world, as well as multiple airlines that service those airports.  With these different options, you are encouraged to compare prices before making any official reservations.

By comparing, you will get more travel options.  When comparing flights and airlines, in general, you are likely to come across flights that you may not have otherwise seen or known about.  In addition to getting a better deal, you may also find flights available with a different airline that has more convenient times.

Another reason to compare prices when buying airline tickets is because you can save money.  What many people, especially first time travelers, do not take into consideration is price differences.  Although you will find some similarities, different airlines charge different fees.

When you spend less money on your travel arrangements, such as your airline tickets, you have more money that you can put towards your vacation.  Depending on the amount of money that you are able to save, you can enjoy a nice meal, add an extra activity to your to do list, upgrade your overnight accommodations, and much more.

One of your first stops should be online travel websites.  Online travel websites are nice because they let you compare flights from different airlines, all at the same time.  A good benefit of using online travel websites to compare airfare rates is you can pay for your tickets through them as well.

You may also want to visit the online websites of airline companies.  If you have to fly out of a specific area, like Albany, you will want to visit the online websites of airlines that you know fly in and out of that airport.  This process of comparing prices will take a little bit longer than using online travel websites, but many take comfort in knowing that they are doing business directly with the airline company.

Happy Flying...

Tips for Fishing in Alaska

Something different, maybe give you some ideas...

Many people who like fishing visit Alaska when summer time comes and salmon are starting to run. Tourists tend to know the best place to catch salmon is in Alaska.

Alaska’s waters make their tourists get the Alaska fishing guide and provide the tourists the best spots for fishing. First, you have to know what kind of fish you want to catch. You can choose from different varieties of fishes like silver salmon, arctic char, steelhead, Alaska king salmon, rainbow trout, or any other fish.

The Arctic, Southwest, South central, Southeast and the interior are the five known geographical places in Alaska. These are the sites where you can maximise your fishing expedition.

Hire a fishing guide since you do not know the area. They may give the best spots for you and accompany you to your fishing.

Here Are Some Things You May Want To Ask From Your Guide

1. You have to know how long they have been doing their work in Alaska?  The reason is that they will understand the different yearly cycles of Alaska.

2. Be aware of the time you will spend during the trip.  The amount that you will pay your guide might only be consumed on the time of the boat ride rather than the fishing itself.

3. Ask how much a particular guide would cost, because they have different rates depending on their skills, experiences and length of stay in their job. A guide that would cost cheaper than the average rate of the other guides might not have enough experience and skills.

4. It is recommended that you have your references.  Most people who have been there are willing to share about how satisfied they were during the fishing vacation. They can also give you some advice on what you need to do during the adventure.

5. Remember, do not hesitate to gather information for your plans and make the most out of your trip in Alaska.

Recipe for Long Island Iced Tea

A friend forwarded this to me, I haven't tried it, but it sounds Awesome...
let me know,.

Long Island Iced Tea

(original url: http://api.allthecooks.com/long-island-iced-tea.html)

Ingredients

1/2 Shot Tequila

1/2 Shot Vodka

1/2 Shot Gin

1/2 Shot Rum

3 Shots Coca Cola

1/2 To 1 shot Sour Mix (or Tom Collins Mix or Whiskey Sour Mix)

Serves 6.

Directions

1 Contributed to the echo by: Sallie Austin

2 Put all in a glass and stir and watch out. Not my idea of a way to consume alcohol (I would prefer too much wine or champagne ), but I believe this was the recipe. Does taste close to iced tea though... --Michelle M. Bass

3 My boyfriend is a "working manager" of a bar here... i.e., he bartends. He said to add these to the preceding ingredients:

4 1/2 shot 151 Rum (in addition to the regular rum) 1/2 shot Triple Sec or Cointreau

5 I only tried one of these... I agree with Michelle... at least with wine or champagne it requires a few hours of sipping before you pass out, instead of a few minutes .

6 BTW- I just asked Jim if he was sure that both 151 and regular rum were used, and why... he said "to hurt people". Good enough reason for me.
